Getting a ripped six pack takes more then just a few sit ups each night before you go to bed. Knowing which flat ab exercises will produce the best results will help you reach your goals faster.

Don't Just Focus on your Abdominals

You might not know this but there are a lot of exercises you can do at the gym which are not primarily flat ab exercises but will strengthen your core and your abs.

Consider lunges, squats, and deadlifts.

Each of these movements require you to keep your upper body stable as you move up and down. What do you think keeps you stable? It's your abdominals/core. Doing these types of exercises doesn't only help to shape and tone your abs, but they also help reduce your body fat percentage so you can see those great flat abs.

Use a Variety of Flat Abs Exercises

Crunches and sit ups just aren't good enough flat abs exercises. You need to take things to the next level.

Here's a list of suggested flat abs exercises you try:

  • Hangling Leg and knee Raises
  • Abdominal Scissors
  • Leg Thrusts
  • Stability ball Crunches
  • Reverse Crunches

Eat Right

Don't waste all that hard work you do in the gym by rushing out for a burger and fries. Do some research, learn how to properly structure a diet for six pack abs and get the right nutrition so you can reach peak performance.

Some simple tips for this are:

  • Cut out all processed foods
  • Reduce your intake of high sugar foods as well as high fat foods
  • Try eating 5 smaller meals each day rather then 3 larger ones (this will help cut down on snacking)
  • Eat more fruits and vegeatables, do this consiously
  • Drink more water, 6-8 glasses a day minumum

I know diet isn't directly related to exercise, how ever when we're talking about getting flat abs it has just a much to do with it. This concept was also introduced to me by The Truth about Abs book (a book I strongly suggest you read if you're serious about getting a 6 pack).
