Ok so back to the best ab workouts, let's get
started.
Crunches: Yes, crunches must be a
part of any great ab workouts but don't just do them laying
flat back on a mat at the gym. Instead use a stability ball.
These balls ensure that you isolate the movement and reduce
your chance of straining anything during the movement.
Also look into several variations of lifted leg and knee
crunches on flat floor. These concentrate on lower abdominals,
and also increase the difficulty for you.
Leg and Knee Raises: These are a
killer abdominal workout that is usually done at the gym, but
can be done if you have a hanging bar at home.
Start hanging straight, and for knee raises pull your knees
straight up towards your chest. Be sure your abs are doing the
work, and you aren't using momentum to pull your legs up.
Control the movement downwards as well.
You can do the same with your entire legs be sure to arch
the back when you're pull up. This is a difficult exercise to
describe through text so I would suggest for assistance from a
personal trainer at your gym, or pick up a copy of the

Leg Thrusts: Lay flat on your back,
elevate your shoulders and neck slightly off the ground. This
is a two step exercise, so raise your legs approximately 45
degrees off the ground, pull them up to a straight up and down
position, then thrust your hips off the floor using your
abdominals. The technique for this exercise takes a bit to get
used to but it's a one of the best abdominal workouts.
Abdominal Scissors: Similar to leg
thrusts about the abdominal scissors exercise starts flat on
your back with your arms extended above your head and your legs
below. Both legs and arms should be about 45 degrees off the
ground.
Pull your legs back up straight, and your arms forward
towards your legs. Your hips should slightly lift off the
ground, continue the motion until your legs and arms cross then
control back to the starting position. This exercise also takes
some practice to get the technique down but it's one of the
best ab workouts.
